The much-anticipated film starring Vicky Kaushal, and Sam Bahadur, has premiered in cinemas today. The narrative revolves around the compelling life of Sam Manekshaw, the former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. Sam Bahadur went head-to-head with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal at the box office. Initial reports from industry tracker Sacnilk indicate that Sam Bahadur has raked in Rs 6 crores on its opening day. The film recorded an overall 15.88% Hindi occupancy on Friday.

In Hindi, around 1,03,192 tickets were pre-sold, contributing Rs 3.05 crore to the total collection. The morning occupancy was highest in Jaipur at 41 percent. This film is directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Sam Bahadur also features Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in key roles.

Box Office Update

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal, has made an impressive debut at the box office. Initial projections suggest that it could generate around Rs 60 crore on its opening day, marking a significant tenfold increase from the anticipated Rs 6 crore for Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. Notably, Animal features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.

Vicky Kaushal emphasized the collaborative nature of the film industry, stating, “When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won’t say that they are clashing with each other; they are playing for a single team. So, we are playing for Hindi cinema.”

“However, the film tends towards excessive declamation, with the background music often overshadowing the significant events and the prominent figures on screen. Who remains a standout throughout the film in his portrayal of Mankeshaw. This represents Kaushal’s most demanding role, and he executes it perfectly.”
