Govt Announces Public Holiday for Iqbal Day

Iqbal Day is a public holiday in Pakistan that is observed on November 9th every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a philosopher, poet, and politician who is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement. It is a day to celebrate his contributions to the development of the idea of an independent Muslim state, which eventually led to the creation of Pakistan.

Allama Iqbal, who was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877, was a well-known representative of the subcontinent and was essential to the Pakistan cause.

Iqbal, a Sufi poet for the modern era, kindled a revolutionary spirit in the nation through his poetry. As a work of the translations of his works into Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and English, he has gained international renown as a philosopher. he did not live to witness the independence of Pakistan and passed away on April 21, 1938.
